The scoping document for the environmental impact assessment (EIA) of Terraforming LIFE has been submitted to the Housing, construction and planning authority (HMS). Prepared by EFLA on behalf of the project, the document outlines the proposed approach for assessing the project’s environmental impacts.
The next stage will involve the statutory review and consultation process. The scoping document is expected to be published for public consultation, allowing members of the public, stakeholders and other interested parties to review the proposed assessment and submit comments.
Following this process, work will continue on the Environmental Impact Assessment Report, which will also be subject to a statutory review procedure before HMS issues its opinion.
According to the current project schedule, the EIA Report is expected to be submitted in early 2027. If the process progresses as planned, a final opinion from HMS could be available in spring 2027. However, timelines may change depending on the volume of comments received and the processing time required by the authorities.
Further information on the environmental assessment and overall project progress will be published on the Terraforming LIFE website as the process moves forward.
