SMJ is a consulting engineering company in Denmark and the Faroe Islands. We offer consultancy services within our four areas; buildings, energy, aquaculture, and water.
About
For more than half a decade, we have been involved in some of the largest projects within construction, energy, and water in the Faroe Islands. Since 2015 we have specialized in the design of land-based aquaculture facilities and associated systems such as utilization of organic waste. Ever since we have been involved in many land-based aquaculture facilities in the Faroe Islands, Iceland, and Norway, including also the biogas plant Førka.
Main goal
The main goal of SMJ in this project is to provide a preliminary design of the fertilization plant as well as technical consultancy in the construction and operation of the final fertilization pilot line.
Main role
Responsibility
An estimate of the most cost-effective option among different competing alternatives for treating organic waste. The operation which can ensure that the production provides the overall lowest cost will be found.
SMJ will provide a preliminary design of a fertilization plant treating fish sludge and manure from the local area. After the initial design, SMJ will coordinate a tender process, procurement, and negotiation with different vendors to provide equipment.
Furthermore, SMJ will provide technical consultancy in the construction and operation of the final fertilization pilot line.
