Ölfus Cluster is a non-profit organization working on development and innovation projects in collaboration with companies and institutions in the Ölfus region and neighbouring municipalities.
Main goal
The organization’s goal is to create opportunities for sustainable value creation, where the green and blue economy form the foundation for the region’s future development. Through collaboration, innovation, and responsible resource management, Ölfus Cluster promotes initiatives that strengthen the local economy, community, and environment.

Responsibility
Ölfus Cluster is responsible for assessing the social impact of the project. The aim is to ensure a positive community attitude and broad consensus regarding the Terraforming LIFE project in Ölfus and neighbouring municipalities, while promoting open communication, trust, and a shared vision for the future.
About
Ölfus Cluster Knowledge center was established in 2021. The cluster was founded by 23 partners who share a common goal — to collaborate on innovation and development projects within the Municipality of Ölfus or in partnership with companies and institutions operating in the region.
The founding members of Ölfus Cluster represent the key pillars of the Icelandic economy. In addition to the Municipality of Ölfus, they include universities, research institutions, technology companies, engineering firms, food producers, as well as producers of renewable energy and fuel gases, and companies specializing in e-fuels and green technologies.
