Ölfus Cluster is a non-profit organization working on development and innovation projects in collaboration with companies and institutions in the Ölfus region and neighbouring municipalities.
Main goal
Ölfus Cluster works in close cooperation with the Municipality of Ölfus in reviewing and analyzing the preliminary design of the factory and the planning of the area. Particular emphasis is placed on ensuring a responsible and sustainable approach regarding the upstream and downstream of water and substances.

Particular emphasis is placed on ensuring a responsible and sustainable approach regarding the upstream and downstream of water and substances.
The results of this assessment will be used to develop a comprehensive communication strategy, which includes both direct information sharing and proactive presentation on social media and othet relevent platforms. This approach aims to promote transparency, trust, and active dialouge with residents and stakeholders.
About
Ölfus Cluster Knowledge center was established in 2021. The cluster was founded by 23 partners who share a common goal — to collaborate on innovation and development projects within the Municipality of Ölfus or in partnership with companies and institutions operating in the region.
The founding members of Ölfus Cluster represent the key pillars of the Icelandic economy. In addition to the Municipality of Ölfus, they include universities, research institutions, technology companies, engineering firms, food producers, as well as producers of renewable energy and fuel gases, and companies specializing in e-fuels and green technologies.
